Dinner w/Fifi & Himay – Tater Tot Casserole

Stolen Says highlights the best of New York City from bar scenes to brunches. As fantastic and fun as all of that is, sometimes the best evenings are those spent in your own apartment with a couple of your closest friends, a bottle of wine, and delicious home-cooked meal.


This week’s Dinner w/Fifi & Himay is (drum roll, please): Tater Tot Casserole!!



I have to give credit where it’s due — this week’s dinner was artfully crafted by my roomie Jacleen. She doesn’t cook often, but when she does it hits the spot! She had offered to cook this week, and as Fifi and I were both up to our eyebrows in pitches, travel arrangements (for others) and exhaustion we jumped at the chance to let someone else feed us. Since moving in with me in October Jacleen has been a fabulous addition to the company at our weekly dinners — here she makes a fantastic cooking debut! It’s simple and quick, but so scrumptious.


What You’ll Need:

  • 1.5 lbs Ground Beef.
  • 1/2 Medium White Onion, diced
  • 1-8oz. Can Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1-8oz Can Green Beans
  • 1 Bag Frozen Tater Tots



What To Do:
Cook the beef with the onions in a frying pan, and once browned, spread in the bottom of a 9”x9” casserole dish with the rinsed green beans. Add cream of mushroom soup. Spread the tater tots (still frozen) across the top of the casserole. Bake at 350F for about twenty minutes or so and serve this gourmet comfort food hot! Yum.
